About Morgan Bauer

Morgan is a healthcare business professional who demonstrates business and technical industry knowledge with competencies in strategy, management, coordination, and analysis. She is currently a Senior Consultant at Optum where she has focused on improving the healthcare system through operations excellence, digital enablement, focus on the consumer, product strategy and growth, and increased transparency across the healthcare industry. In her role, Morgan marries business insight with technical capabilities to meet business and client goals and help people live healthier lives. Prior to joining Optum, Morgan focused on process improvement utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. From workforce capacity planning in hospitals, to shop floor organization and layout in manufacturing, to optimizing crop health through drones and NDVI analysis in precision agriculture, she was involved in a variety of industries. Regardless of location or position, Morgan believes strongly in living out the mission and values of the company she works at in addition to improving performance. She studied industrial engineering at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science. There she discovered her passion for improving systems and understanding how human decision-making impacts these systems. As a naturally curious person, Morgan thrives in roles where she can learn new systems and markets, simplify complex information to help others take action, and create better solutions to provide meaningful and lasting results. She finds joy in bringing out the best in others and creating order out of chaos and ambiguity. Outside of work, you can find Morgan spending time with her family and friends. As a mom to two little girls, she doesn’t have much free time, but she loves being involved in the Madison community and working on house projects when she can. If she ever has a chance to get back into hobbies, maybe she’ll take up drone flying again – she’s a certified drone pilot.
