About Morgan Goddard

I am a Medical Sciences graduate with a strong interest in medical writing and healthcare communication. I am motivated by the challenge of turning complex scientific topics into clear, accurate, and engaging content that can be understood by both technical and lay audiences.During my final year at university, I achieved a first-class grade for my dissertation, which investigated Alzheimer’s disease pathology using cryo-electron tomography and AI-driven image segmentation. This project highlighted my adaptability as I learned new programming languages, imaging techniques, and data analysis methods, while also refining my ability to present findings through precise and well-structured scientific writing.Following my degree, I launched Morganism, a Substack newsletter where I write and edit accessible, research-based articles on medical and health topics. This experience has developed my editorial skills and strengthened my ability to communicate complex ideas to a broad readership. To build on this, I have completed two specialist medical writing programmes: the CPD-accredited Introduction to Medical Writing and the Medical Writers for Beginners course with the International Medical Writers Association. Both have provided me with a strong grounding in scientific writing standards, SOPs, medical journalism, and editorial processes, equipping me to grow further in this field.Alongside these, I have completed Good Clinical Practice training, Pfizer’s Molecule-to-Market Simulation, and Biotech Unveiled, gaining insights into clinical trial conduct, the pharmaceutical product lifecycle, and regulatory frameworks. I also led a consultancy project with five peers, analysing Scope 3 emissions for over 250 Fortune 500 companies and producing a professional client report from complex datasets. These experiences strengthened my skills in project management, collaboration, and translating complex information into clear outputs.I am now seeking to apply this expertise in an early-career medical writing role. My goal is to combine my scientific background, writing experience, and industry insight to support the creation of clear, well-structured, and impactful healthcare communication. I am particularly interested in opportunities within pharmaceutical companies and medical communications agencies, where I can contribute to producing accurate content that informs, engages, and enhances understanding across both technical and lay audiences.
