About Morgan Holden

As Founder of Obsidian Global Sourcing, I lead a specialist recruitment and workforce consultancy dedicated to the UK’s Engineering and Manufacturing sectors, with a mission to connect industry, education, and talent in a more strategic and meaningful way. With nearly 10 years’ experience in technical recruitment and 3 years working directly with colleges and training providers, I’ve developed a 360° view of the workforce landscape — from attracting skilled professionals to helping shape the next generation of engineers. At OGS, I work with some of the UK’s most innovative manufacturers to source and onboard talent across all levels, while also advising on workforce planning, succession, and retention. But recruitment is just one part of the puzzle. I also collaborate closely with the education sector to bridge the gap between classroom and industry. At City College Norwich, I’ve led Employer Link events, contributed to the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), and helped align curriculum with employer needs. I’ve supported T-Level placement development, recruited hard-to-fill teaching roles, and even influenced the creation of new leadership positions to strengthen student-employer engagement. This work gives me a unique perspective. One that blends technical recruitment with workforce development, curriculum design, and talent pipeline strategy. Before founding OGS, I co-founded Alexandrite Recruitment Ltd, which I continue to oversee. Prior to recruitment, I spent 10 years in Sales and Marketing, an experience that taught me to listen deeply, communicate clearly, and always put people first. I’m passionate about continuous learning and recently completed a City & Guilds Level 1 in TIG Welding with Swarm REAGIT, Norwich, with further training in Mechanical Engineering, CAD, and Quality Management planned.
