About Morgan Johnson

I am currently enrolled in the accounting program at Western Governors University with a GPA of 3.0/4.0 along with the QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification program. I will be CPA eligible in December 2017. I previously received my B.B.A with a Concentration in Finance from Radford University in 2010 and my A.A.S. in Business Administration from Wytheville Community College. During my time as a student I have learned preparation of individual tax returns and tax treatment for items reflected on a tax return. I have conducted basic tax research to include: tax research process, importance of the facts to the tax consequences, sources of tax law, tax compliance and procedure, tax and financial planning and consulting. I am also knowledgeable in areas such as scope and purpose of accounting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and preparation of financial statements. I have experience in establishing new clientele and maintaining existing clients. I have accomplished this by focusing on areas of money management and balancing risk factors based on an evaluation of their financial status or underlying need. I have completed comprehensive assessments for individuals and verified reports and records to include: bank statements, tax returns, self-employment records, dividend statements paid directly to the client, and capital gains and losses. In accordance with policies and procedures, I maintained balancing record and policy retention. I have accounted for and prepared journal entries for assets and liabilities such as: accounts receivables, notes receivables, accounts payable, and notes payable. I attained minimal knowledge in Peachtree (Sage 50) software, preparation of financial statements, financial planning, and basic accounting principles and guidelines through an internship with Elliott Davis Decosimo in the summer of 2008.
