About Morgan Martel
My two passions in life are law and the environment. Through my studies and my work, I aim to combine these passions by delving into the world of environmental law. My legal studies have provided me with a strong understanding of Canadian law and how to analyze and critically apply these laws. I have applied these skills in my work at Environment and Climate Change Canada when I create legal briefings and analyses to explain legal developments in plain language and to identify critical legal developments that staff need to be educated on. I have also completed numerous published research reports on Canadian law and other topics. My reports have been published by SciencesPo Paris, the Canadian Journal for the Academic Mind, and the Carleton University Women's Legal Network. These reports have ranged from topics on the effects of social media filter bubbles on polarization and democracy to the effects of cattle farming on climate change. I am open to working in areas regarding environmental law and policy in Canada and beyond. I am also open to working in the legal field more broadly.
