About Morgan Nelson

A part-time emergency department chief medical scribe and full-time student at the University of Central Florida studying Health Sciences.While working towards my Bachelor of Science degree, I have served at the Chief Medical Scribe for ScribeAmerica. My duties as Chief Scribe include managing the scribe staff at my location, creating monthly schedules, hiring and training new scribes, monitoring timecards, and coordinating with the department's medical directors. This has allowed me to develop time-management, leadership, and communication skills while building strong a baseline of medical knowledge and proficiency with the Cerner EMR system.I also serve as a member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity at the University of Central Florida. Throughout my time as a member, I have had numerous volunteer opportunities including participating in Green Greeks, working with the UCF Creative School for Children, and hosting events for our own philanthropy - Read > Lead > Achieve. Additionally, I've held many leadership positions over the past 3 years. These include Director of Member Conduct, Vice President of Risk Management, and I am currently serving as the Chapter President. These roles have taught me the significance of servant leadership within my community.
