Hi! My name is Morgan! I am a Certified Oncology Data Specialist! What is that you may ask? Well I collect, maintain, & analyze data on people with cancer. Why do I do this? Well the information that I collect is very important for treatment for patients. Researchers use the data that I input for a number of different but all equally important reasons. For example, calculate cancer incidences in a certain area or conducting research on certain diagnosis and treatments of cancer. Where do you think we get all these treatments from? People like me! I am passionate about being a CTR for personal reasons as well. My family, like many others, have been impacted by cancer. When my grandmother was diagnosed with colon cancer it made me realize that I wanted to have a career in healthcare but I wasn't too sure about being a clinician. Few years later when undergoing my Health Information Degree I lucked up and my practicum was at a Cancer Registry and I fell in love! Their was nothing else in the world that I didn't want to do! So here I am!
