About Morgan Womble

Born and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, I always felt a calling to serve people. I went to Appalachian State University and North Carolina Central University, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). I started working as a newly graduated Registered Nurse at a large Level One Trauma Center in 2011. After that, I was a travel nurse and spent time in Washington State and California. While in California, I pursued a different path and was interested in wound, ostomy, continence, and foot care. I attended Emory University to become tri-certified as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) and initiated my foot care training. At that time, I returned to my hometown in North Carolina where I joined one of the state’s most prestigious Wound and Ostomy Consult service teams. Altogether, I have practiced as a CWOCN for seven years and as a Registered Nurse for 12 years. In 2019, I went to East Carolina University to continue my professional growth. In May 2022, I completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus in Adult-Gerontology. While I trained in gerontology, I was also fortunate to complete specialized rotations within my school’s program under vascular surgeons and podiatrists. In my current role, I work with UNC Geriatrics and assist with outpatient primary care needs and also provide care in skilled and long-term care settings. I have recently decided to expand my repertoire as an entrepreneur. I have opened a mobile business called Womble's Wound and Foot Care Solutions, PLLC. I will offer foot care services such as nail trimming, nail filing, and callus paring. Also, provide recommendations for managing fungal nail care and place appropriate referrals when evaluation findings warrant more specialized attention. In addition, my business will offer virtual wound consultations. The sky is the limit for me, and I am so excited to pursue my passions while being able to offer niche services to vulnerable populations throughout the piedmont. I love working with the geriatric population and consider myself lucky to severe such a wonderful community.
