About Morgen Clark
I currently am a PhD Candidate in the lab of Dr. Gemma Reguera in the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Department at Michigan State University. Here I study the electroactive bacterium Geobacter sulfurreducens. I am interested in determining the adaptive mechanisms it uses to detoxify metals such as uranium. I previously worked as a research technician in a microbiology lab at the Tufts School of Medicine. My skills include atomic force microscopy, anaerobic culturing, ELISA, mammalian cell culture, qPCR, and laboratory animal work. In the past I attended the University of Vermont and earned a BS in Molecular Genetics with a minor in Microbiology. My undergraduate research project was focused on genetic regulation of bacterial metabolism.
