Background

About Moritz Begle

I am an architect and graduate from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalunya (IAAC) in Barcelona, with a related thesis in the field of "Self-sufficient Buildings" which was awarded with the 'Innovative Energy Award. During my studies I was mainly focusing on digital fabrication and computational design methods, which I further enhanced through the Open Thesis Fabrication (Postgraduate) at IAAC and the „Fab Academy“ at the FAB LAB Barcelona. I worked as a teaching-assistant at the „Digital Matter and Intelligent Construction Studio“ at IAAC. From 2014 on, I have been working as an architect and teaching assistant at the Chair of Architecture and Building Systems of Prof. Dr. Arno Schlüter at ETH Zurich. The responsibilities in my role as an architect and project manager included the design, development and accompanying implementation of construction & research projects. Since 2019, I am working at ERNE AG Holzbau. As the head of business development, I am supporting the company ideas with the Application-Development team, Process & Qualitymanamagement and the Architecture Division. As a member of the "Digitalisierungsstammtisch" I am coordination several digitalisation projects, developing new Software/Configurator tools to optimize the planning and project handling process.
