About Moritz Breitenbach

From early on, I have been captivated by the world of innovations. It was in the 9th grade, around 2003, when the death of clone sheep Dolly became a prominent topic of discussion, sparking my passion for biotechnology. This enthusiasm led me to pursue studies in chemistry/biochemistry, choosing to study in Zurich, a city – at that time – far away from my hometown Berlin.But as it turned out, Zurich wasn't far enough for me, so I embarked on an exciting journey that took me to Berkeley and later to Stanford. At Berkeley, I had the privilege of being taught by a remarkable professor who eventually won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2022. This brilliant individual, constantly demonstrated her unwavering passion for research and her ability to generate innovative and unconventional ideas, left a lasting impression on me.My experiences at these prestigious institutions not only enriched my personal growth but also shed light on the immense time and effort required for research, often with disappointingly low chances of success, especially when it comes to practical applications.Motivated to be involved in hands-on applications, I made the decision to join the IT Consulting division of one of the worlds leading consultancy'. As time passed, the field evolved into Management Consulting, reigniting my passion for being at the forefront of innovations. As a result, my desire prompted me to make a significant transition to the patent world, over a decade ago.Since then, and in conjunction with my postgraduate studies for an LL.M. degree, I skillfully applied those business perspectives I had gained from management consulting to the patent domain. This fusion of expertise not only proved beneficial for my own growth but also paved the way for lasting business success for my clients in the fascinating world of patents.
