About Moritz Eissmann
After studying medical Biotechnology at Technical University Berlin I completed my studies with my Diplom-thesis on apoptosis-inducing agents in malignant cells in Charite-University medicine Berlin.During my PhD-studies in the Biomedical Research Institute Georg-Speyer-Haus I focused on the identification of novel anti-apoptotic molecules and their potential as molecular cancer therapy targets.In 2012 I joined the Colon Molecular and Cell Biology Laboratory of Prof Ernst at Walter & Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne to explore oncogene and non-oncogene cancer signalling addiction pathways as new therapeutic strategies for gastric cancer in mouse models. Furthermore, I am interested in the functional influence of tumor microenvironment homing cells, like mast cells and macrophages for gastric tumor growth.Beginning 2015 I moved together with the Ernst laboratory to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute.
