About Moritz Lukas

I am passionate about fast-paced commercial environments in B2B tech. I started my career as a management consultant at McKinsey, followed by a PhD in financial economics. I then had the great privilege of being Taxdoo’s very first sales person and building their entire sales organization and processes from scratch. In this role, I have been driving Taxdoo's sales operations from the initial group of early adopters to a four-digit customer base from all over Europe – including some of the most well-known e-commerce brands and large corporations expanding into e-commerce. In 2020, I led Taxdoo’s sales department through our Series A funding round (lead: Accel, EUR 17m). In 2021, I led Taxdoo’s sales department through our Series B funding round (lead: Tiger Global, EUR 57m). In 2022, shortly after byrd’s Series C funding round, I joined byrd as VP Sales and set the Sales team up for consistent quota (over)achievement and efficiency. From 2023 on, I was additionally responsible for byrd's Onboarding and Account Management teams. As Xentral's VP Commercial, I am responsible for Sales, Marketing, Customer Development, Partnerships, Pricing, and Revenue Operations. Over the last years, I have been a speaker in almost 100 talks, workshops, and webinars (e.g, at leading industry events such as OMR, DMEXCO, or K5).
