About Moritz Schwarz

Following a degree at the London School of Economics and a Master’s Degree from the University of Oxford, both in the field of environmental economics, I am now working in the International Environmental Affairs division of the Austrian government in preparation of the Austrian EU Presidency 2018. In my job, I work on international environmental treaties, such as the Paris Agreement or the Convention on Biological Diversity. Apart from my day job, I am a Research Associate at the Oxford-based research group ‘Climate Econometrics’ and I research methods and techniques to quantify future climate impacts using econometrics. I currently work on my next publication as a Research Fellow at the Environmental Change Institute at Oxford University. My newest publication on the Impact of 1.5°C and 2°C warming has just been published in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society (see below for link). In the past, I have had the opportunity to gain insights in a variety of public and private institutions such as the alpS research hub or the internationally leading steel-based technology company voestalpine AG.
