Dr. Mostafa Khalil is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary since September 2025. He specializes in photonics and quantum technologies, with research spanning device-level innovations to system-level applications. My current research interests include: 1- Quantum optical microcombs for chip‑scale quantum processing with entangled frequency combs 2- Entangled photons for scalable multipartite quantum key distribution (QKD) for secure-communications 3- Quantum enhanced dual-comb spectroscopic systems based on QDLs and/or optical frequency microcombs 4- Investigating ferroelectric materials, including barium titanate (BaTiO₃) and lithium niobate (LiNbO₃), into silicon photonic platforms.
