About Mounika Eppala

With extensive experience in automotive cyber security and embedded systems, I am a Functional Safety and Cyber Security Project Engineer at UL Solutions. My mission is to protect automotive systems from cyber threats and ensure the security and resilience of vehicle electronics. As an assessor of ISO 21434, IEC 62443-4-1, and IEC 62443-4-2 standards, I have successfully led and supported multiple projects involving module testing, hardware manual testing, and risk assessment for various automotive systems. I possess deep knowledge in ISO 21434, UNECE R155, and UNECE R156 standards, contributing to robust cybersecurity frameworks. My expertise extends to understanding CAN packets and frames, SPI, I2C, and LIN communication protocols, and unraveling cryptographic algorithms to bolster data security. With basic programming skills in CLASSIC AUTOSAR and Python, and hands-on experience with microcontrollers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and STM microcontrollers, I bridge the gap between software and hardware. 🤖 Additionally, I have knowledge in secure boot, PKI, HSM, and cryptographic algorithms. I am passionate about learning and applying the latest technologies and best practices in cybersecurity to enhance the security posture and performance of automotive systems.
