About Mozan Osman

As a 4th-year PhD Fellow in Biomedical Sciences at UAE University's College of Medicine & Health Sciences, I am passionate about tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. I am currently working on a research project that aims to design and test composite bone scaffolds from various biomaterials, such as collagen, PLGA polymer, and doped nano-hydroxyapatite, for bone regeneration. I have extensive experience and skills in scaffold fabrication and characterization techniques, with hands-on experience in XRD, FTIR, Transmission & Scanning Electrone Microscopy, cell culture & viability assessment. Moreover, i have conducted Mechanical testing and Nanoindentation in different scaffolds, and assessed their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and mechanical properties. I have also explored supercritical CO2 and electrospinning as scaffold fabrication techniques, and compared their effects on scaffold morphology and performance. Additionally, I have knowledge in bioinformatics which I acquired from my previous Master's degree. Prior to joining UAEU, I worked as a lecturer at Omdurman Ahlia University in Hematology department, College of Medical Laboratory Science for four and a half years, also i worked as a product specialist for Clinilab company in molecular biology line for two years.
