About Mridula Sharma

I was 8 when I started reading, 13 when I started writing, and 17 when I started working on research. I have published over 20 journal articles and book chapters; some publishers that have accepted my work include Routledge, McFarland, and Vernon Press, etc. I have presented my papers at over 50 academic conferences in the US, France, Germany, Spain, Poland, India, Finland, and the UK. My areas of interest include literary theory, 20th century literature, migration, and modernisms. My secondary interest lies in pedagogy. My engagement with research in labour economics and feminist economics is primarily a consequence of my prior experiences at Harvard Business School and Indian Institute of Management Rohtak. I am particularly influenced by Naila Kabeer's work on social exclusion, gender, and labour markets. I am also a published writer and the recipient of several international scholarships, fellowships, and grants in creative writing. Previously, I have mentored over 700 students and young professionals at MyCaptain and later used my teaching experience to write journal articles and book chapters on pedagogical practices. Fun facts: I was selected for an Indo-German Exchange Program, I rejected a job offer from McKinsey, and I started a literary club during COVID-19. I enjoy reading, writing, and thinking.
