About Mrigank Sinha

My current passion is and I see my future doing my part towards achieving the. I am highly motivated towards my work, I have my own mind and I take the phrase "Be the change" very seriously. I am a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Energy and Process technology. During the week, I work with Zero Emission Fuels. We make methanol out of just sunlight and air. As the lead engineer/scientist, I focus on Direct air capture and distillation processes. Being the first employee at a start-up situated within a technical university (TU Delft), working with students with diverse domain gives me the best of both worlds. I have my own work lab (workshop + laboratory) and my job entails the following: Project Planning & Management : I get to interview and select my own team of students from mechanical, chemical, electrical or applied sciences backgrounds. With 8-10 students every 3 months, I get to run multiple projects either theoretical, experimental or simulations related. Research: Currently I work on sorbent selection, degradation & lifetime of materials and sorbents, synthesis of new sorbents, unique absorption processes, vapor liquid equilibrium, dynamic studies on DAC and micro distillation, process control philosophies to name a few. Product Development: At ZEF, we build our own experimental setups and prototypes. Innovative experimental techniques, 3D CAD, building and assembly of complex absorption and desorption process are some projects we work on every 6 months. Others: I get to be a part of thesis committees, have discussions with the brightest minds in this industry and get an entrepreneurial exposure unlike I ever imagined. During the weekends, I work on establishing my own start-up called Mist Creations with my cofounders. We are currently building a platform to inspire and facilitate the youth and young professionals to take an active part in the fight for sustainability. Our vision is to become the leading changemakers helping the world achieve the 17 SDGs laid down by the United Nations. To achieve this we have the following goals: Spreading awareness about human impact on the world and shed light on the importance of SGDs Changing the perception of how we look at each other and do things - incorporating sustainability in daily decisions Solving real world problems through progressive case studies with diverse horizontal networks If you want to discuss new ideas, start a collaboration, have passion for sustainability, lets connect!
