I thought nothing could be more rewarding or action-packed than filing a meaningful story until SLAP happened. In 2012, when Nirbhaya gang-rape shook the world, staying silent wasn't an option. Having faced, foiled and survived an assault myself - I could imagine the horror of it all. The thing is that even though, I had escaped an assault - it took months of self-motivation and self-defense training to let go off the fear of being targeted again.(I didn't take the road where I was attacked for a couple of months)- It was way back in 2007 when I was still a TV journalist. So, founding SLAP to train women pro-actively on various aspects of personal safety happened so naturally that I didn't even realize when a weekend passion became my full-time job (job sounds so wrong - full time vision describes it more accurately) SLAP's powerful training programs have been put together after consultation with some of the best martial arts experts, lawyers and law enforcement agencies to provide our women participants with - real life threat simulation & escape techniques, handling physical & psychological aggression in public spaces, dealing with sexual harassment at work place & their legal rights.
