About Muath Assfour

Dedicated and driven Humanitarian Director with over nineteen years of experience in the nonprofit sector across Jordan and the MENA region. Possessing a broad technical and strategic background, I specialize in overseeing and developing impactful humanitarian and development programs, particularly in business development for Mental Health and Psychosocial, Health, and Protection, focusing on post-conflict and conflict settings. As the Regional Partnership and Resource Mobilization Advisor for War Child Alliance in the Middle East, I provide vital support to the Alliance in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, and Afghanistan. As part of a global network, War Child Alliance is an independent and impartial international NGO dedicated to investing in a peaceful future for children and young people affected by armed conflict. Previously, I served as the Senior Manager of Program Development at the Center for Victims of Torture, the largest international organization treating survivors and advocating for an end to torture globally. With almost 13 years at CVT Jordan and MENA region, I held roles such as Outreach and partnership Manager, contributing significantly to the organization's mission. My significant achievement at CVT includes leading the formulation and execution of a sustainable localization strategy. This involved devising a business model to expand MHPSS services. Furthermore, I contributed to the development of self-care and staff support programs, enhancing the well-being of local actors.
