About Mudasar Rajas

Over the last 9 years I have worked in mainstream schools and also pupil referral units. My job role has varied from a HLTA to a behaviour support worker and pastoral / safeguarding team. As an experienced HLTA my excellent communication and interpersonal skills are ideally suited to working in a teaching environment. Whilst working at Bradford District PRU I have gained the necessary skills required to teach 1-2-1, small groups and whole classes on a daily basis. I have also gained invaluable leadership skills that have helped me plan and deliver lessons/activities for special needs students, students with challenging behaviour and also mainstream students. I now possess extensive knowledge and experience in the safeguarding and welfare of vulnerable students. Whilst working in pastoral care, I liaised with parents / carers/ outside agencies and professionals to make sure all students were being safeguarded in and out of school. I believe I now have the confidence, knowledge and experience to deliver quality, engaging lessons and provide a high level of pastoral care to meet the complex needs of each individual student. A typical day at Bradford District PRU would include planning and delivering lessons with the lead teacher ( or in the lead teachers absence ). Marking students work, providing feedback to students and stakeholders. Updating trackers, displays, SIMS, CPOMS and in house reward systems. Communicating with parents/carers every day with regards to their child's behaviour, attendance, engagement and progress.
