It all begins and ends in your mind" As a polymer chemist, I am excited to be working on the cutting-edge technology of chemical recycling of polyurethane. Polyurethane is a versatile and widely used material, but its disposal is a significant environmental concern. Chemical recycling offers a sustainable solution that can turn waste polyurethane into valuable products. I am developing innovative chemical recycling processes that can efficiently break down polyurethane into its building blocks, such as diols and diamines. These building blocks can then be used to make new polyurethane products, closing the loop on the material's life cycle and reducing its impact on the environment. My work on chemical recycling of polyurethane is not only environmentally beneficial but also has great potential for economic benefits. By creating a circular economy for polyurethane, we can reduce waste and decrease our reliance on fossil fuels, while also creating new business opportunities. I am proud to be part of this exciting field and look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of sustainable chemistry.
