Background
About Muhammad Bashir
After completing my MSc Economics from the University of Manchester, I joined Columbia University Department of Economics as a predoc in economics working for Professors Michael Best and Jack Wills. I work on questions related to public finance and development economics. I am also studying graduate public finance at Columbia. Earlier, I graduated from Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering at LUMS with a degree in Economics and Mathematics. I have worked as an RA at mignex.org and Mathematics in Economics tutor for MGSHSS, LUMS. I have taken higher-level courses including Calculus, Linear Algebra, Advanced Econometrics, Statistics, Real Analysis, Functional Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Microeconomics Theory, Macroeconomics Theory, and History of Economic Thought. During the summer of 2021, I worked as a Jr. Data Scientist in Artificial Intelligence at Afiniti.com. I am a Mathematics geek doing economics for fun. I am interested in deep Mathematical questions like how numbers originated and how Mathematics married Economics. Currently, I am interested in the theory of mathematical statistics and how we can use randomness to study the world around us. I am also interested in the Punjabi culture, particularly Punjabi Sufi poetry. I write articles at eacpe.org. I read about competing for economic systems around the world. I am interested in the logic of the idea of Free-market and its relation to the real world. Connect with me at https://bashirmohammad.github.io.
