About Muhammad Sami

For the past 30 years, I have been using Computational Fluid Dynamics tools to model engineering problems dealing with turbulence, heat transfer, combustion, multiphase and particulate flows. A Mechanical Engineer by profession, I have been working with ANSYS (formerly Fluent Inc.) since December of on a variety of engineering projects across several industries such as Energy, Automotive, Aerospace and Electronics. Since Dec of 2010, I have been working mostly with clients from oil and gas sector as my location changed from Chicago to Houston. I have worked with all major oil producers as well as services companies on a variety of new technology projects. These interactions helped in bringing new methods and models to our flagship CFD product, Ansys Fluent. I have received several awards and recognitions for my contributions to our products. Currently leading the Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Initiative on Sustainability at Ansys. Our goal is to produce Ansys Solutions to existing challenges in the CCUS industry segment using state of the art simulation technology. Another important aspect of my job is to stay ahead of the curve and learn new trends such as machine learning to improve our prediction capabilities.
