About Mulya Amri

I am passionate about transforming cities and regions into places that are more livable, sustainable, and investment-ready. With over 20 years of experience spanning public policy, urban development, and economic strategy, I work at the intersection of business, government, and academia to drive systemic change. Currently, I serve as Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Institute, the think tank and training arm of Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where I lead research, trainings, and policy initiatives to shape Indonesia’s economic transformation. I also share knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at the School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung (SBM–ITB), helping professionals and leaders understand the complexities of global economics and business environment. Earlier, I was Deputy Director at the Asia Competitiveness Institute (NUS), worked with the World Bank on urban development and infrastructure programs, and practiced as an urban planner at HOK, a global architecture and design firm. I was also Faculty Chair of Golkar Institute, leading trainings for young politicians and strategic research for the 2024 legislative and presidential campaigns. My career has taken me across Indonesia, Asia, and beyond, collaborating with governments, development agencies, and the private sector. Trained as a public policy scholar (PhD, NUS; Fulbright, UCLA; Chevening, LSE), I bring an international perspective with local insight to every initiative. I am committed to enabling inclusive growth, sustainable urbanization, and stronger public institutions—because better policies and better cities mean better lives.
