About Munawar Saudagar

With over 25 years of experience involving digital and chemical technologies, I have an optimal blend of experience, qualifications and hands-on software skills to be a frontend/full-stack developer or technology consultant for digital transformation (DX) projects. I have more than four years of software development experience both in frontend and backend technologies. These technologies include JavaScript, Typescript, React, NodeJS, Express, CSS, Bootstrap, Tailwind-CSS, Flowbite-React and HTML5 etc. This experience enables me to contribute as a frontend developer or as a full stack developer. I am also well skilled in Python, Flask, Jupyter Notebook/Lab, NumPy, Pandas and Matplotlib, Anaconda and Google Colab. My digital technology knowledge includes IoT, Cloud/Edge computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Augmented Reality (AR), Big Data (Hadoop, Kafka etc. and analytics-related software) etc. My 22 years experience at SABIC (a global petrochemical company) gave me great opportunities to work closely with both chemical technologies and digital technologies that included modeling, simulation, optimization, advanced process control (APC), plant historian (OSI-PI etc.), data-reconciliation and technical software development (Matlab, Fortran). At SABIC I was involved in a number of plant support projects and closely worked with process and operation engineers from SABIC manufacturing plants. I initiated, developed and executed (over a three-year period) a corporate-level program for implementing "Advanced Process Control (APC)" in SABIC plants. This program yielded tangible benefits of tens of million dollars. Worked from SABIC side with Booz & Company on an organization restructuring project for almost a year. I was one of the key responsible for developing structure of a new global Manufacturing Competence Center (MCC). I played a key role in establishing the "first" competitive technical intelligence program for SABIC. Initiated and established the "first" CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) group in SABIC. Worked as the Section Head of "Technology Development Competencies" that included "Reaction Engineering","Separation Technology","Flow Modeling" and "Computer Aided Process Engineering" groups. My qualifications include Ph.D. in Process Control and MS and BE in Chemical Engineering. I have received a number of honors and awards including quality awards, best paper award, best accomplishment award, best teaching assistant award (during PhD), graduate scholarships, first position in BE, and a 4.0 GPA in MS.
