About Murat Abay

With over 20 years of experience, I am a seasoned executive and strategist passionate about delivering innovative, customer-centric solutions in financial and digital services. I currently lead Strategy and Investments at BBVA Digital Banks, driving BBVA’s digital expansion and market growth. Previously, I served as Executive Vice President and Head of Financial Services and Digital Goods at Trendyol Group, EMEA’s fastest-growing e-commerce company, serving 30 million customers and sellers. There, I built and scaled a 15-million-customer fintech ecosystem, encompassing payments, consumer and SME lending, credit cards, insurance, and digital goods, leading a high-performing, diverse team. Before Trendyol, I spent many years at Oliver Wyman, where I played a key role in building the firm’s presence in Turkey. As a senior partner, I developed deep expertise in retail and SME banking, treasury and balance sheet management, credit risk, and digital lending and pricing. I worked closely with financial institutions to craft and execute effective strategies, optimize operations, and elevate customer experience and loyalty.
