About Muriel Vermelho

I graduated in Pedagogy from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in 2013 and completed postgraduate studies in Educational Neuropsychology (2016) and Neuropsychopedagogy (2021). I am proficient in English, having acquired this skill at Kaplan Colleges in Dublin, where I had the enriching experience of living for six months. With over 10 years of experience as a lead teacher, I have worked in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, the latter being my primary area of expertise. For the past nine years, I have dedicated myself to immersive English language education and international education, striving to create engaging and effective learning experiences. I am certified by the Reggio Children Institute in Italy, where I learned about the Reggio Emilia methodology. I apply this approach daily in the classroom to foster a rich and stimulating learning environment that encourages creativity and collaboration among students. Recently, I had the honor of leading the launch of the Baby class, aimed at children from 18 months old. In this project, I implemented sensory experiences, sociocultural activities, and motor and cognitive stimulation, always focusing on immersion in the English language and building upon the educational theories I have studied. Currently, I am working with elementary students, developing projects based on their interests, curiosity, and previous knowledge. I place a strong emphasis on promoting their independence, both in play and in learning. I thrive when I see my students consistently developing their skills, managing their emotions, problem-solving collaboratively, and supporting each other's learning journeys. In addition to my teaching experience, I am currently pursuing an MBA in School Management, which I believe will enhance my leadership abilities and provide me with valuable insights into effective educational practices. Starting in January 2025, I will also begin studying Logotherapy, as I believe that self-knowledge fosters personal growth. This growth, in turn, enables us to uplift and empower those around us. My ultimate goal is to inspire and nurture a passion for learning in my students, helping them become confident, curious individuals ready to explore the world around them. I am excited to continue contributing to their holistic development and to creating innovative and inclusive learning environments that celebrate diversity and encourage exploration.
