About Murray Drummond
I am a Research Professor in Sport, Health and Physical Activity and the Director of the SHAPE Research Centre at Flinders University. I have numerous past and present PhD students studying a range of topics in the area of sport, health and physical activity. My research interests are based around sociological, qualitative sport and health research with a particular interest in men, masculinities and body image. I have published widely on issues relating to masculinities and health, gay men's bodies, and prostate cancer among gay men and CALD men. I am regularly invited to present my work nationally and internationally. As a researcher and expert in gender and sport, I am a member of the South Australian Women in Sport Parliamentary Taskforce. I sit on the editorial boards of 4 International peer reviewed journals including: Men and Masculinities, Canadian Journal of Behavioural Science, International Journal of Men's Health and, Boyhood Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal.
