About Murray Young

A background story about me as an introduction: I developed a passion for downhill ski racing early on, learning to balance high-speed performance with teamwork and personal growth. This mindset has carried through my career, which has evolved in three key stages. Stage 1: I earned my degree in Philosophy with a focus on biomedical ethics, honing critical thinking, conflict resolution, and strategic planning. Later, I completed an MBA, expanding my expertise in leadership, operations, and strategic management. Stage 2: My transition into the pharmaceutical industry was fueled by grit and strong mentors. I worked across various roles – from primary care sales to government affairs – while leading and coaching teams, moving across Canada, and continually refining my sales and leadership skills. Stage 3: Recently, I broadened my expertise by pivoting to the commercial healthcare space, exploring roles in medical cannabis, B2B healthcare services, and SaaS/IoT focused on worker safety. Outside of work, continuing to challenge myself through downhill skiing, mountain biking, and wake surfing are my activity passions - while keeping curious through global travel adventures alongside my family.
