About Murrin Wilding

I am a self-motivated and determined undergraduate student of Social Policy with Politics with keen interest in the lived experiences of society and in particular, how social policy shapes them. I am a reliable self-starter who remains as driven on individual tasks as I do with team efforts. I value the opinions of others and thrive in opportunities where I can channel my compassion for the disadvantaged into making positive change. I believe that in a policy/research role I would not only have the chance to showcase my existing skills in communication, teamwork, leadership and academic research but also to grow and develop my professional self to become someone who can make meaningful and valuable social change. I am currently in my forth year at university and openminded about new opportunities that are available to me. At the moment, I work as a Campaigns Intern at People Know How after completing an research based internship with the organisation last summer. I work to drive their Connectivity Now campaign by connecting with key stakeholders and conducting my own research into campaign strategies and social research into the issue of data poverty and the poverty premium. I also have some insight into parliamentary work as I completed 2 years of work experience with my local MSP in her Holyrood office during my time at school which has given be a valuable insight into the policy making process at central level in Scotland. I have also worked for 4 years alongside my studies for Boots, building my confidence and communication skills needed for person facing roles.
