About Musavir Bashir
The main research interests include Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO), Aerodynamic Shape Optimization, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Flow Control Techniques. I have worked on developing optimization frameworks for aircraft design, morphing wing technology, and unsteady vortex dynamics—experimental & numerical studies on drag reduction and stall control. In addition, I was involved in many research collaborations, including the NSERC-funded CREATE Uninhabited Aircraft Systems Training, Innovation, and Leadership Initiative (UTILI) program. Good command over MDAO Frameworks (OpenMDAO, GEMSEO, RCE, etc.), software such as ANSYS (Fluid and Structural modules), OpenFoam, and DAFoam, COMSOL, Altair HyperWorks & OptiStruct.Good Programming language skills (C&C++), PYTHON & MATLAB.
