About Mycah Chanel Whitehead

I graduated from Quinnipiac University in May 2020 with a BA in Criminal Justice & Sociology, with a focus on re-entry and social work. During my studies, I gained valuable insights into the legal system, social issues, and human behavior, that serve me daily in my interactions with a diverse demographic of employees and guest populations. I held the role of President of Alpha Phi Sigma, the Criminal Justice Honor Society, and became a member of Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Sociology Honor Society. Upon graduating, I received the Rachel Ranis Prize in Social Justice for exemplifying a true passion for social justice. Additionally, I completed internships at the Federal Public Defender Office in New Haven and the Superior Court for Juvenile Matters in New Haven, where I assisted with research, interviewing, development of social histories, and administrative tasks. Concurrently, I worked as an Editorial Assistant for SAGE Publishing, where I managed the book review process for the Gender & Society journal and held the role of Peer Catalyst Mentor for the Quinnipiac University Learning Commons.
