I am grateful to be in a profession where I’m forever growing with knowledge,compassion,patience and understanding,having a career in a felid I love I’m able to do a job well done and feel like I’m making a difference in those I’m blessed to care for because,of the career choice I’ve made,when I enter a patient’s/clients or home/room to assist them with what they are not able to on their own like enjoying a walk outside,grocery shopping be able to do something so simple to you and I(and for some)maintain life without pain,help with daily living needs like showering,eating,brushing one’s teeth or to be their voice when they can’t speak,their hands to write with Dignity and Respect because,I believe in karma I’ve learned a lot in the 28yrs. plus in the medical field starting at 17 working at Kaiser Permanente Hospital as PCA to Now an LVN I’m learning a lot about my career field of choice what I thought was just helping my grandmother at young age having the feeling of being needed (by someone I seen to the as a strong person)and I felt special/good when I did it and grow up and make a career of it (while following in my grandmother & mothers footsteps)I truly enjoy the work I do,sometimes I have to remind myself not to become attached to my patients, it’s harder than it sounds because,you spend so much time,energy that you find yourself getting closer they become like a second family and or family member especially in-home care,The long and short of of being a healthcare provider it’s not meant for (what I was told about in school)robot nurses you must have patience & compassion & you won’t learn that in any school this job,this career choice is not for anyone trying to make money or get rich understand,you’re going to put your mind,body,soul and yes even your heart to include your own family through a lot especially if you have young children but if you teach them compassion at a young age,you just might be setting at their swear in next with pride,Stay Blessed🥰
