Career highlights include 1) development of mathematical models to understand spontaneous combustion in coal stockpiles (Wits University, 1985-1989), 2) test work and design of the MF2 process for concentration of platinum group metals from UG2 ore (Impala Platinum, 1989 -1992), 3) design and commissioning of an Enhanced Precious Metals Refinery incorporating ion exchange technology to separate platinum group metals (Impala Platinum, 1994-1997) and 4) process design for a world-scale gold plant expansion in West Africa (Tenova Bateman and SGS Bateman 2015-2017) which was commissioned in 2018.
