About Myra Tomlin-Reed

My working journey began in my grandfather's gentleman's outfitters as a Saturday girl. By 16, I was working on King's Road, Chelsea, at my parents' antique stall in the Antiquarius building, now home to Anthropologie. Working amidst the vibrant culture of King's Road in the 1980s, I was deeply influenced by the fashion, art, and music of the era. This passion for music led me to the soul, jazz and house scene, where my love for dance music evolved into co-founding and promoting drum and bass events. I co-founded two underground record labels, distributed vinyl records and DJ set recordings, immersing myself in the UK's breakbeat, jungle, and DnB scenes. Many years later, I briefly hosted an online radio show on Deep Vibes Radio. I transitioned to the beauty industry, specialising in 3D nail art. I worked as a session manicurist and was handpicked for the CND London Fashion Week team, becoming Naomi Campbell’s UK nail technician and collaborating with many A-list celebrities, designers, and photographers. During this time, I also co-founded Flip Runway, a London Fashion Week management agency, with Liza Smith. When we eventually went our separate ways, Liza took the name LS Runway, and I retained Flip Runway as my creative brand. Ten years ago, I retired from the London scene to the Kent countryside with my husband Greg, where we established a retail art gallery and home interiors store. This venture led us to become the exclusive UK distributor for Fusion Mineral Paint, importing from Toronto and building a strong network of furniture paint retailers. Our efforts transformed Fusion Mineral Paint into a well-recognised brand in the UK. We also distribute Staalmeester and Cling On brands, serving both B2B and B2C customers. This year, after nearly a decade with Fusion Mineral Paint, we made the strategic decision to pursue our vision and create Flip Runway Studio. Our mission is to to inspire a creative movement with AI and traditional art, offering premium giclée art prints, exquisite decoupage papers, and high-quality art accessories. We support our artists by licensing and selling their work, enabling others to transform their spaces with these unique pieces. I'm excited about helping retailers set up their own certified Flip Runway Studio outlets, fostering a thriving creative community.
