About Mysara Elsayed

When I switched from a design curriculum to computer science, I realized how crucial cross-disciplinary collaboration is. My name is Mysara, and I'm currently a junior at Kean University, majoring in Computer Science. Before this, I was deeply immersed in Industrial Design (ID) during high school and took one semester of ID coursework at Kean. Design is something I’ve always loved—especially seeing its subtle influence on people’s daily lives. But as I delved deeper, I wanted to explore design from a broader, more scientific perspective. That’s when I found my passion in computer science, a field that perfectly blends my design roots with the logic and structure of STEM. Right now, I’m working on projects that explore how technology can transform education and drive social impact. One of my key projects involves developing AI-driven chatbots to assist students with online learning. I'm also conducting a study comparing CNN models for Arabic handwriting recognition, using TensorFlow along with tools like Roboflow and LeNet-5. Through these experiences, I’ve built a strong foundation in machine learning, computer vision, and data analysis. I’m especially motivated by the potential of AI and machine learning to change the way people learn, communicate, and interact with technology. My goal is to bridge gaps across disciplines, working with like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds, and be part of the rapidly evolving AI/ML landscape.
