Nadav Besner is the Managing Partner and Founder of Efrem Capital, a boutique firm specializing in opportunistic public and private investments. The firm focuses on verticals where capital is scarce due to complexity, steep learning-curve, regulatory overhang, or being temporarily out of favor. Efrem Capital also acts as the family office for Mr Besner and actively deploys capital. Prior to starting Efrem Capital Nadav was a senior investment professional with two decades of experience and successful track record in the hedge fund industry. He employed a fundamental, deep-dive approach to investments ranging from distressed credits to equities with a focus on complex, value-oriented opportunities. Nadav has previously worked as a Principal at SoundPoint Capital on their various liquid and illiquid credit funds. Prior to that he was a Director for twelve years at Taconic Capital, a large hedge fund started by principals from Goldman Sachs, where he focused on distressed investments and levered equities. He began his career at Goldman Sachs in the Asset Management Division (GSAM), focusing on hedge fund strategies. Nadav holds a Bachelor of Economics from Wharton, Bachelor of Science from Upenn Engineering, and an MBA from Wharton. He is a Graduate of the M&T undergraduate program as well as the MBA submatriculation program. He grew up in Highland Park, NJ and currently resides in New York, NY with his wife and seven year old golden retriever.
