About Nadia Boutabba

Dr. Nadia Boutabba is an associate professor at the Institute of Applied Technology, Fatima College of Health Sciences with a main interest in optoelectronics, lasers, and photonics. She earned a Ph.D. in Quantum physics in 2006 from the University of Science, El Manar, Tunisia with a thesis on “ Photovoltaic conversion under high intensity light in polymer materials: non linear analysis and experimental approach “. She completed her master's degree in quantum optoelectronics, and laser diodes, in at the laboratory of condensed matter physics, Tunis Carthage. In 2009, Dr. Nadia has occupied a visiting assistant professor position at Texas A&M University where she taught different courses with high competent physics professors, mainly she shared the electromagnetism course with Professor David Lee, Nobel prize. Furthermore, she had a Post-doc researcher at the Electrical & Computer Engineering department at Texas A&M to study the non-linear aspects of negative refractive index materials and chalcogenide glasses. She has also served in other teaching positions in Canada such as the position of Assistant Professor in 2010 in The Royal Military College of Canada and the Cegep Saint Laurent for 5 years. She was responsible for many years of the student learning center where she was able to coordinate and create effective strategies to support students with difficulties in learning. Dr. Nadia Boutabba has published several papers in high impacted journals among them she is a single author. She also serves as a referee for various optical journals and she is a member of the Optical Society of America, Optica formerly OSA. Furthermore, she is a member of the Arab Physical Society and invited to serve as a co-conveners of the Atomic, Molecular, Optics and Photonics working group (ArPS).
