About Nadine Sutton

I have been working in the health and social care sector for over 9 years with experience in learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge, elderly/dementia, children /young adults, and mental health settings. In this time, I have developed a range of skills and significant knowledge and understanding about the individuals I have supported and the care sector, itself. I am highly enthusiastic and passionate about this subject, and I now share this knowledge and passion with other people through training. I love the feeling of people leaving a training session with new understanding, a new outlook and hopefully a smile on their face. I am currently the proud Lead external trainer of the Alzheimer's Society, and have been delivering for them for nearly three years. I teach delegates how to respond to distressed behaviours, how to meaningfully engage with people living with dementia, and also provide top tips for effective communication. I am extremely passionate about raising awareness about dementia and better understanding those living with the conditions and how we can all work to help them live well! The other area of special interest is safeguarding. I promote good practice and help settings better understand their safeguarding requirements to build awareness, understand their roles, to be better informed, and to encourage effective safeguarding across all settings.
