About Naeem Komeilipoor

I’m an engineer, scientist, and entrepreneur with a deep curiosity for how technology can be used to improve lives and bring people closer to what matters. My journey has taken me through neuroscience, biomedical engineering, and artificial intelligence, and I’ve been fortunate to work across diverse disciplines and cultures that have shaped how I think and create. Driven by a desire to support others, I’ve had the opportunity to build ventures focused on human empowerment. One of them is — an award-winning, first-of-its-kind platform that translates brain and biosignals into control commands. At AAVAA, we’re creating technologies that allow people, especially those with physical disabilities, to interact with their environments using subtle, intuitive gestures like blinks, facial expressions, head motion, or gaze direction. From assistive devices to hearables and AR interfaces, we aim to help people regain agency and ease in everyday life. Most recently, I founded Findora — Canada’s first AI-powered, human-centered search engine. It’s a growing effort to restore trust in how we discover, understand, and verify information. With dedicated modules like DANA (an intelligent life companion offering mental health coach and life guidance) and ARTA (a deepfake detection engine for video, audio, and text), we’re building a platform that supports not just how we search, but how we live and make decisions. Outside of tech, I find meaning in the arts and philosophy. I compose music, write poetry and stories, and explore the deeper questions of existence. To me, science and creativity are deeply intertwined — both are ways of exploring what it means to be human.
