Background
About Naeem Nedaee
Naeem Nedaee is an interdisciplinary humanities scholar pursuing a PhD degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at UBC’s Okanagan campus. As part of his doctoral research, Naeem is exploring the onto-epistemological shift toward new, anti-philosophical ways of thinking, living, and becoming in the world in contemporary literary and visual narratives in English. He specifically engages in genealogically informed and politically committed explorations of affect, embodiment, relationality, and situatedness – a constellation of concepts pivoting around subjectivity – through a new materialist, posthumanist lens. Naeem spends his spare time taking mindful walks, listening to neofolk from Spain and Chile, and staring out the window of a coffee shop while sipping at his Caffè Americano.
