Prof. Nagaraj Ramrao, an eminent academician, researcher, and an able administrator, is the Vice Chancellor of Mohan Babu University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Till recently he was the Vice Chancellor of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (Deemed University), Srivilliputtur, Tamilnadu and prior to that he was the Director of Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology,(DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, Gujarat a state private university and Mentor Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology Gujarat. All institutions under his leadership made tremendous stride vis-a-vi Accreditations (NAAC, NBA, ABET) and Rankings (NIRF, THE, QS). In his career spanning more than 33 years, he was the Director and Principal of The Oxford College of Engineering, Bangalore and served as Professor & Head of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering there. Earlier he was the Professor and Director of R.V. Center for Cognitive Technologies, a Research & Development Center under the Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore. He has also worked as Asst. Engineer in Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd and at MSRIT, Bangalore. He was an Independent Director at Gujarat Informatics Ltd. He is a recipient of the Rashtreeya Shikshana Samiti Award for Academic Excellence for the years 2006 and 2007. He is a recipient of RV VLSI Mentorship Award from RV VLSI Design Center, Bangalore. He was a National Merit Scholar. In September 2020 he was conferred the Most Dedicated Vice Chancellor Award by Golden AIM conference and Awards for Excellence and Leadership in Education. He was conferred the Academic Leadership award by the Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) for the year 2020. He is a Senior Member of Fellow – Institute of Engineers (India), recent past CIS Chapter-Gujarat Section, Life Member of IETE, ISTE, ACM and Computer Society of India. He is a peer reviewer for various important International Journals/Transactions on Fault Tolerance and Optimal Control.
