About Nahed Sahmoud

Humanitarian & Gender Specialist | Technical Advisor | TeamUp Regional Master Trainer & Mentor With over 11 years of experience in the humanitarian sector across the Middle East and Cyprus, I have led diverse technical, programmatic, and capacity-building initiatives both in the field and remotely. My expertise spans emergency psychosocial support, inclusive education, child protection, gender equity, localization, coordination, meaningful leadership, and women’s empowerment. As a Regional Master Trainer and Mentor for TeamUp Global, I support partners in applying participatory, evidence-based approaches that build resilience and leadership among children and communities affected by conflict and displacement. I provide tailored technical assistance and develop context-specific tools to ensure sustainable, locally owned programming. I have designed and delivered trainings, shaped program strategies, and collaborated with global partners such as UNRWA, UNICEF, EU institutions, Save the Children, War Child Alliance, and Women of NetHope. My work currently focuses on multiple EBMs integration, contextualization and localization, ensuring programs are culturally relevant, gender-responsive, and grounded in lived realities rather than assumptions. Currently advancing my gender and inclusion certification with UN Women, I concentrate on empowering women in crisis contexts, especially in the Middle East, and challenging dominant narratives. I strive to ensure that women of color, particularly those in under-resourced and conflict-affected settings, lead and influence humanitarian and development efforts. Fluent in Arabic, English, and I speak French, I engage across diverse cultural and linguistic contexts to strengthen coordination and partnerships. I am committed to designing and delivering evidence-informed, rights-based solutions that amplify marginalized voices and promote transformative humanitarian outcomes.
