About Naiara Goia

I am an innovation professional with more than 25 years of experience leading complex strategic projects with international scope across public, private, and civic sectors. With a multidisciplinary background and training, I combine commitment, innovative mindset, strategic thinking, and leadership to create strategies with transformative impact. Over the course of my career, I have launched initiatives, held leadership roles in multiple organisations, promoted innovation strategies for business and social transformation, and remained deeply engaged in both local and international networks and collaborations. As the Managing Director of Arantzazulab, my work centres on democracy innovation, governance transformation and public innovation, with a particular emphasis on bridging practice and research, embedding values, advancing feminist leadership, and exploring the role of technology. I am passionate about building networks, connecting people and ideas, and facilitating dialogue, and I thrive on creating inclusive, multi-stakeholder approaches that drive systemic change. An experienced communicator, I frequently speak at national and international forums, contribute to media debates, write in edited volumes, and participate in numerous think tanks on the challenges facing the Basque Country. I also collaborate with universities as a lecturer.
