Background

About Najum Uddin

I have worked with World Bank/ARTF funded projects in the rehabilitation & improvement of the irrigation and Water sector of the country/Afghanisgtan since 2010 in different regions of the country. I have worked as Water Management specialist, Team leader, Regional Manager and Technical coordinator in On Farm Water Management Project from 2011-2019. Currently, I am working with the Emergency Agriculture and Food supply project (EATS) with a total budget of 100 million USD, funded by World Bank/ARTF from January 2020. Beside that i have also worked as Project Manager for Feasibility study of Andkhoi irrigation project funded by MAIL ministry and remains as an active member of technical team for feasibility study of large scale irrigation schemes such is Khoshtepa (Irrigating 500 K new Agriculture land) funded by USAID/Embassy of USA in Kabul, Zamin Davor and Musa Qala irrigation projects (irrigating more than 30 K new agriculture land). I did my master in Water Resource management from Agriculture university Peshawar in 2011. Moreover, I have presented different research papers in ICID (Intl, commission for Irrigation & drainage) and remain an active member of ANCID (Afghanistan national committee for Irrigation & Drainage since 2017.
