About Najwa Abdul Rasheed

As an urbanist who is led by social justice, I am passionate about shaping inclusive cities where everyone, particularly the under-represented, has a seat at the table. My journey spans research, community engagement and strategic partnerships. They all culminate in a desire to bridge the gap between policy and lived experience, especially for immigrant communities. I hold a Master's degree in Urban Policy, and am currently pursuing a second Master's degree in Urban Studiesand Planning, with a focus on migration. Over the years, I’ve worked on projects ranging from grassroots family cafes to research on gig work and housing rights. Whether it’s building partnerships, writing grant applications for equity-driven initiatives, or co-creating communal neighbourhood spaces, my work is grounded in empathy and a belief in systems change.
