Background

About Namrita Halder

I am a PhD candidate at National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) Pune within department of pathogenesis and cellular response. My PhD research is focused on common signalling molecules and receptor-dependent downstream signalling between neurons and immune cells that constitutes the bi-directional crosstalk. Prior to joining NCCS I was a undergraduate student at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER). I endeavored to understand the regulation of synaptic growth and functions for modelling human motor neuron disease in the fruit-fly. The gene I worked on is Senataxin which is known to be involved in Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 4 (ALS4). Throughout my research training I made a conscious effort in learning Fly and Laboratory animal husbandry Mice breeding and genotyping Drosophila genetics Confocal Microscopy Molecular biology Immunology techniques and Flowcytometry analysis .
