Lung Navigator: Work directly with Interventional Pulmonologist. Ensure prompt coordination of care plan for patients with newly diagnosed lung cancer. Screen and follow patients receiving endobronchial valves for both persistent air leaks and lung volume reduction. Follow-up with all patients coming through Emergency Department with a newly diagnosed Incidental Lung Nodule, ensuring they are followed by medical team per national guidelines. RCP IV: Provide state of the art intensive respiratory care in the adult, pediatric and neonatal areas; perform supervisory duties as requested; member of pediatric and neonatal transport teams; member of pediatric and adult intubation teams; educate families on pediatric asthma, both in the hospital and community; actively participate in quality improvement initiatives for pediatric asthma and adult lung protective strategies in mechanical ventilation. Manager: Lead respiratory care practitioners caring for patients in Trauma ICU, Medical/Surgical ICU, Emergency Department, NICU, PICU & Pediatrics; assure quality patient care is provided by RCPs and delegate staff to perform and complete daily assignments; proficient in organizing daily responsibilities of RCPs and provide competent direction for shift personnel; assist and relieve RCPs to ensure quality care is provided; interview, hire and discipline clinical staff; evaluate the clinical performance of staff; coach, counsel and motivate RCPs to strive for excellence; provide educational training to staff and customers; recognized by peers and staff as collaborative and helpful; insure clinical staff meet established productivity standards; orient, train and educate all team members as necessary; mentor and develop leadership skills in clinical staff; develop and implement protocols and pathways; develop and implement system-wide policies and procedures; research, evaluate and purchase equipment; coordinate and lead research projects.
